She has been a member of the Aspen Institute’s Forum on Communications and Society, and has lectured on Managing Creative Organizations at Cal State Los Angeles.
Kathy Johnson
Kathy A. Johnson manages executive search activity as Director of Operations. To this role, Johnson brings extensive leadership experience from both the corporate and non-profit sectors, and a track record of success in building organizational capacity, infrastructure, and programs to drive workforce diversity. This background combined with her broad professional network allows Kathy to quickly find and assess candidates, thereby managing recruiting activity to a successful conclusion.
Johnson previously led sales and marketing teams at Black Entertainment Television, Disney Channel, and Times Mirror Cable Television. Most recently, she was President of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), the premier professional association focused on multi-ethnic diversity in the cable television industry.
Throughout her career, Johnson has demonstrated commitment to the field of diversity and inclusion. She played a leadership role in the founding of Digital Diversity Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to diversity and inclusion in the tech sector, with corporate partners including Facebook, Google, Salesforce, Time Warner, Comcast, and Airbnb. In addition, Johnson served on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for the American Society of Association Executives and the Advisory Board for Accenture’s Business Leadership Forum for African-American and Hispanic Executives. Johnson has also been a member of the Diversity Advisory Board for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. Johnson is a Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management Fellow.
Kathy earned her BS degree in Broadcast Journalism, cum laude, from Boston University. She earned her MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Lauren Fisher
As a psychologist, Lauren D. Fisher, PhD has extensive experience in assessment, consultation, psychotherapy, clinical intervention, and career coaching. She has worked in healthcare, corporate settings, and private practice where she has specialized in assessment for a variety of purposes, including executive search, talent and leadership development, and clinical diagnosis.
Dr. Fisher leverages the use of psychometric assessments for short-listed candidates to determine role and culture fit, to identify behavioral interviewing questions, and for onboarding, talent evaluation, and leadership development purposes. She is also responsible for identifying a diverse talent pipeline for the company’s immediate and longer-term hiring needs.
Fisher was formerly an executive search assessment consultant at Korn Ferry, one of the world’s largest recruitment and organizational consulting firms, where she administered assessments to senior executive candidates across several different industries (e.g., real estate, financial services, consumer, professional services, non-profits, fintech, industrial) and translated those results for client decision-makers (e.g., CEOs and Boards). She was also responsible for developing behavioral interview questions for specific job profiles, evaluating talent, and delivering onboarding consultation to executive placements.
Fisher has co-authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed research articles on topics including microaggressions in the workplace, sexual minority women’s career support and aspirations, LGBTQ aging, and racial identity development.
Fisher earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University and her MA and BA in Psychology from Boston College.
Lisa Fisher
Lisa Fisher has over thirty years of experience leading executive search engagements for clients across sectors, functions, and geographies. She is passionate about helping organizations, people, and communities realize their full potential and she is deeply committed to creating adiverse and inclusive, socially and economically just society that works for all.
Lisa launched her executive search career at Heidrick & Struggles, where she served as a principal in the Washington, DC office and a member of the Global Financial Services and Diversity Services practices, and she previously worked in the financial services industry.
Lisa previously served as senior advisor to the chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She helped launch and lead the Freedom to Compete Initiative, an education, and outreach program designed to help proactively prevent discrimination in the workplace and create a fair and level playing field for all workers regardless of race, gender, national origin, age, or disability.
Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Howard University.
